Following feedback we will be making some improvements to the 218 when the winter timetable starts on the 27th October 2024.
The late evening buses will now run 30 minutes later with the 7.40pm & 9.40pm from Sheffield and 8.40pm & 10.40pm from Bakewell going to new times at 8.10pm & 10.10pm from Sheeld and 9.10pm & 11.10pm from Bakewell.
On Saturday mornings there will be changes to the times of the first two buses from Sheffield on route, with the 7.30am from the Interchange now serving Chatsworth House to give a pre 9am arrival for staff.
On Sundays the winter service will be hourly as in previous years but with the enhancement that all journeys except the last bus from Sheffield will now run via Chatsworth House, improving links to the upcoming Christmas at Chatsworth events. Times from Sheffield will change so that most buses leave at 40 past each hour so that buses leave at consistent times where possible every day of the week.
The new timetable is now available on the timetables page of the website.
A new summer timetable will start on 30th March 2025.
As part of a review of services by other operators we will be making some changes to some of our services which we run on behalf of SYMCA from the 1st September. These changes are as follows:
8/8A | replaced by new hourly circular services M44 and M45, which will start and finish at Crystal Peaks bus station and serve Birley and
Frecheville.
These will also provide new links to Moorthorpe and Birley Medical Centre’s. M44 will be the faster route Crystal Peaks to Birley, M45 will be most direct option Birley to Crystal Peaks.
31 | buses will run hourly at peak times, and the service will now serve Sheffield Interchange
41 | will be partially replaced by new hourly Monday - Saturday service 70 between Sheffield and Manor Top. The new 70 will provide a new link
through to Meadowhall Monday - Friday
42 | will be renumbered 70a, but with no changes to route or timetable
55 | will be split in two and replaced by services M44, M45, M55. Journeys to Plumbley will be numbered M55 with
minor changes to times. Frecheville and Hackenthorpe will be covered by circular services M44 and M45 (M44 more direct Frecheville to Crystal Peaks,
M45 more direct Crystal Peaks to Frecheville)
76a | will be renumbered M76 and have a route change in Sheffield city centre to serve the Interchange
X54 | will be replaced by services 71/71a/71s. Sheffield – Harthill Buses will still be hourly Monday – Saturday (71) and 2 hourly Sunday (71a) but will run to new times, with the 71 usually leaving at 20 minutes past the hour from Sheffield Interchange. There will be one 71s journey from Aston Academy on school days.
X74 | will be replaced by service 70 running via Manor Top between Sheffield and Waverley. Buses will still be hourly but will run to new times, with the 70 usually leaving at 43 minutes past the hour from Sheffield Interchange.

We're pleased to announce from start of service on Thursday 18th November 2021, contactless payments can now be accepted on all our services. We also accept Apple Pay and Google Pay.
There will be some changes to the timetables of services 15, 16, 20 and 252 from 30th August 2021. New timetables are available to download below:
Face coverings do assist in reducing the transmission of coughs colds and other viruses. From 19th July 2021 face coverings cease to be required in law on public transport and become a matter of personal responsibility. A number of our customers are elderly and vulnerable and we do want and need them to return to using bus services. We therefore earnestly ask all of our loyal, socially responsible dedicated customers to consider carefully the needs of their fellow passengers in making their personal decision on whether or not to wear a face mask.
We are proud to announce two internal promotions:
Paul Cobb, who started with TM as a driver, progressing to Traffic Officer and Interim AOM becomes Operations Manager.
Dan Smith, who started as an apprentice in the old TM is now our new Workshop Team Leader, running the workshop.
The passion and vigour which Paul and Dan bring to TM will help us build the company, post pandemic to a strong dynamic bus business.
Services 30/30A will now operate along Rockingham Street towards Crystal Peaks & Plumbley, due to the permanent closure of Carver Street. These services will stop at Rockingham Street RS1 (37027614).
At TM Travel the safety of our colleagues and passengers is of paramount concern.
This is why, we have:
(i) offered our drivers gloves and hand sanitiser
(ii) reviewed and enhanced our cleaning regimes for buses
(iii) sourced screens for our buses - which you will now see appear
(iv) provided vehicles with capacities to allow our customers to adhere to social distancing
(v) worked closely with local authority partners to focus our resources where they are most needed
You, our loyal customers have done a lot to help us but can we please ask:-
(i) you to consider the time you are travelling. Capacity on buses is under a lot of pressure and we do want to be able to offer it to as wide a cross section of our customer base as possible
(ii) to pay with exact fare wherever possible
(iii) to practise social distancing as far as possible on the vehicle
Together we can and we will beat this evil virus. We really do appreciate the support of each and every one of you.
Welcome to the new TM Travel website. Our website is your one stop shop for all information regarding our services, including school services.
Here you can find details about our bus services and where and when they run to, tickets that are available to purchase onboard our vehicles and you can even download timetables direct to your computer.
