The basics on how tickets work

How do our fares work ?

• The single fare is dependant on distance travelled.

• Child fares are available to young people aged 5-18 inclusive (certain conditions may apply).
• Accompanied children under 5 travel free.
• Guide Dogs travel free on our services.

If you would like to request any further information regarding our ticketing arrangements, please contact customer care on info@tmtravel.co.uk or by calling us on 0114 263 3890. Lines are open Monday - Friday between 9am and 4.30pm.

Children

Children under the age of 5 travel free when accompanies by an adult.

Within South Yorkshire, children aged 5-11 include travel for a standard set fare of £1, as governed by SYPTE. Children aged 11-18 include also travel for £1 but only upon production of a valid SYPTE MegaTravel or 16-18 Student card. No other forms of ID will be accepted and full fare will subsequently be charged. Where age may be in doubt, proof of age is the responsibility of the child or an adult fare will be charged.

Within Derbyshire, children aged 5-18 inclusive are charged half-adult fare, when in possesion of a B-Line travel pass, as governed by Derbyshire County Council. Where this fare is normally over £1.50 then as a special discount funded by the UK Government the fare is being capped at £1.50.

Concession Fares

Concessionary passes are available from your local (district) authority and will normally entitle you to FREE travel on all buses across England after 9.30am until 11pm on week days and all day at weekends and on bank holidays. No time restriction is in place at weekends or on public holidays.

The time at which you can travel is dependent on the district in which you are traveling and NOT that of the council who issued your pass. When traveling simply show your concessionary pass to the driver, scan the pass on the ticket machine and wait for the beep/green light.

Tickets

Tickets are issued for all fares paid. While our drivers do provide change, please try and help speed up the journey for everyone by tendering the correct fare.

Please retain tickets until the end of your journey. A Revenue Protection Officer may board a bus at any time to check tickets. When boarding the bus always advise the driver of your final destination.
